The Coven

In the fall of 2014, Lady Morgana Brighid was struck with the desire to help the Pagan community.  Over the years, she had seen and met so many new practitioners who were confused about how to begin their path.  There's so much information available these days that it can be difficult to filter through and build a solid practice, to create a foundation for your lifelong journey.  After more than a decade on her path, she decided to begin mentoring others, helping them build a base of knowledge to expand upon and create their own paths.

Over time, she realized that she could reach more people in the community by teaching in groups with a clearer, more streamlined format.  Having begun her own path in the Wiccan way of studying for a year and a day (plus) before dedication, she felt that would be the appropriate way to teach the subject.  Over the next few months, the idea grew and evolved into a full-fledged course.  As it was growing, it seemed logical that a traditionally structured coven should accompany this course.  What better way to know whether a coven will be successful and balanced than to study together for a year?   So, a teaching coven was formed, with founding member Lady Morgana at the helm.

While searching for a Handmaiden to assist in MCCA's creation, Lady Morgana reached out to other pagans throughout the city, meeting Priestess Lavender Autumn early on.  A friendship quickly developed and Lavender became an integral part of Maiden's Circle, eventually becoming the coven's first (and currently, only) Handmaiden.

Maiden's Circle Coven and Academy was formed to guide Seekers toward a deep, fulfilling connection with the Divine through an Eclectic Wiccan practice and to bring women together to honor the Divine, with an emphasis on the Goddess.  Maiden's Circle Coven is a coven with traditional structure, with a less traditional belief system.  Members are called Initiates or Priestesses.   We follow the basic tenet of the Wiccan Rede, “an it harm none, do as ye will,” but are not strictly Wiccan practitioners.  We come together as Sisters under the Divine Mother with open, loving hearts and in perfect trust.  We continue our studies after initiation, learning the mysteries one cannot find alone, and working together to alter our lives and the lives of others for the better.   We share our journey, build strong friendships, and work to serve the Goddess.  We look forward to sharing and learning with each new Initiate!

Blessed Be
